I’ve been in the fine jewelry industry for longer that I can remember.
I was told to design within limits.
To make what fits the market.
To follow what sells on the next Valentine’s Day.
To stay within what people understand.
Rather than imaginations, they want two extra curves on a heart pendant, a symbol added to a rose.
Predictable, sellable, and “special”.
I had no interest in that.
I never wanted to create jewelry for the sake of maximizing investors’ returns.
That confines imagination.
and drained my passion of when I first got into this industry.
Unobject began with a refusal,
to reduce expression into something predictable, to let imagination answer to convention, to make silver a wearable statement.
That is what Unobject is.
Not limited by expectations.
Not confined by category.
Not defined by anything except the form and the silver itself.
Just forms. Sterling Silver. And YOU.
